"Abolish People" is part of "The Hidden," one of the limited-edition sculpture series created by Joan Cornellà in 2023 in collaboration with DDT Store. The collection consists of seven figures cast in bronze and produced in a strictly limited edition of 25 pieces per model, making these pieces particularly sought-after within the artist’s collectible universe. In this work, Cornellà translates into three-dimensional sculpture the graphic language that has made him one of the most internationally recognized contemporary Spanish artists. His characteristic figures, with their naive appearance and impassive expressions, are hallmarks of his work, contrasting with the title *Abolish People* and creating a blend of dark humor, absurdity, irony, and provocation.
Joan Cornellà Vázquez is an illustrator, cartoonist, and contemporary artist. His work is characterized by a seemingly simple visual language, vivid colors, and characters with impassive expressions who find themselves in situations brimming with absurd humor, satire, and dark humor. His work has transcended the realm of illustration and comics to carve out a space of its own within contemporary visual culture and the art market.
