A unique abstract sculpture of French origin, created around 1990, within the context of the revival of European geometric sculpture in the late 20th century. The work is based on an essentially architectural conception of volume, constructed through a complex interplay of black-lacquered geometric elements, assembled and layered with precise brass fasteners. Its structure, articulated through planes, angles, and open forms, establishes an evocative dialogue between solids and voids, matter and space, generating a dynamic interplay of light and shadow. The composition draws on the tradition of Constructivism and geometric abstraction, while also incorporating elements closely related to the architectural language and design of the late 20th century.
One of the piece’s main attractions lies in its ever-changing nature: the perception of its volumes and lines transforms depending on the viewer’s vantage point, making the sculpture appear to take on different configurations in space. Despite the apparent complexity of its structure, it maintains a remarkable balance between rhythm, proportion, and void.
Conceived as a freestanding work, it can be understood both as an autonomous sculptural piece and as an architectural object, particularly well-suited for contemporary interiors. Its combination of geometry, understated color palette, and industrial materials reflects the experimental spirit of the French school of sculpture and design of the late 1980s and early 1990s.
