DESCRIPTION
Art Deco pedestal, circa 1940.
Alabaster.
Measurements: 85.5 x 27 x 27 cm.
An alabaster pedestal with a columnar structure—though far removed from the classical orders—featuring a refined design based on parallel lines and geometric volumes that reflects the enduring influence of Art Deco. It combines a stepped base—with distinct superimposed sections and moldings—with a stylized shaft featuring a band at mid-height and a stepped capital, also characterized by gently curved forms.
