Jose Luis Lopez Moral was formed in the Workshops of plastic arts of the Circle of Fine Arts of Madrid. He has a long exhibition career and is represented in prestigious private and institutional collections. The prestigious EXIT magazine dedicates its latest issue (#51, Oct 2013-Jan 2014) to artists who revolutionize contemporary photography "looking back". Among his solo exhibitions we mention those held at Espacio Islandia, Madrid, 2013; Aurum gallery in Cartagena, 2012; Can Gelabert Binissalem, 2011;Abaart Gallery Mallorca, 2008; Chiado Gallery Lisbon, 2007; Zambucho gallery, Madrid, 2006; Abaart Gallery Mallorca, 2004; Antonio Camba Gallery Mallorca, 2002; El mono de la tinta Gallery Madrid, 2000. He has participated in several editions of the Art Miami fair, in KIAF'05 and 2006. He has been awarded with Honorable Mention XVI Plastic Arts Awards Rei en Jaume, Calviá 2011; Selection International Art Award Antony Gelabert 2012 Palma de Mallorca.Accésit in the XII National photography contest "La avutarda" City of Parla 2013; by the Ministry of Culture, former Museum Of Contemporary Art, 1996. He is represented in important public collections: IVAM of Valencia, Biblioteca Centro de Arte Reina Sofía de Madrid; Museo de la ciudad de Madrid, Fundación Rafael Alberti Cádiz, Fundación Florencio de la Fuente, Huete; Casal Solleric Fundació Palma Espai d'Art, among others. From the creative symbiosis between the pictorial tradition and the photographic technique, between poetic realism and an almost surreal romanticism, a subjugating work of López Moral is born. Captivating for his ability to sail through seas already traveled but without anchoring in any port, he travels through them leaving us a continuous sensation of deja vu, pleasant and intriguing, before landscapes sublimated by luminous effects, ruins covered with moss, vaporous formations swirling over parched meadows... Vague memories of the silent landscapes of Corot, Constable, Friedrich... filtered by subtle textures and resinous glazes give the surfaces an aged aspect of elusive beauty. "This work belongs to a series taken in Cordoba, Cuenca and suburban landscapes of Madrid. Although in my photography the geographical location is merely testimonial. What matters to me is to be able to find in the shots a kind of timeless landscape. In these cases they were cloudy days and they transmit a very marked melancholic air, which is what I am looking for when I work".
