Global warNing is much more than a photograph: it is an artistic thermometer on climate change. In this self-portrait, the artist appears surrounded by an apocalyptic landscape, crowned by leaves hand-painted with thermal paint. This pigment reacts to the rise in temperature: the green disappears, leaving a glimpse of a dry brown. When the green no longer returns... we will know that it is too late. Lídia Vives creates a visually powerful and deeply conceptual work, in which beauty and denunciation coexist in the same scene. This unique piece is printed on ecological paper Hahnemühle Bamboo Natural Line, and framed with anti-reflective gallery glass and gold frame. Lídia Vives is a photographer and visual artist based in Barcelona. She has exhibited in museums and galleries such as the Louvre and the Saatchi Gallery, and has been published in media such as Vogue Italia and Esquire. Her work mixes pop aesthetics, social criticism and pictorial references to create powerful, beautiful and uncomfortable images at the same time.
