In this multiple, Jaume Plensa articulates a characteristic conceptual language in which he generates a game of concealment and revelation that invites an introspective reading. The presence of the terms "Mute?" and "Bad" introduces a semantic tension that refers to central issues in Plensa's work, such as lack of communication, the fragility of language and the construction of identity. The circular image acts as a visual nucleus, evoking an intimate and suspended space, in contrast with the materiality of the whole.
Jaume Plensa has developed an extensive international career, with outstanding exhibitions such as the retrospective held at the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía in 2000.
He has received important awards, among them the National Prize of Plastic Arts of the Generalitat de Catalunya and the Medal of Knight of Arts and Letters of the French Ministry of Culture. His work is part of important international collections and museums such as the MoMA in New York, the Reina Sofia Museum in Madrid and the MACBA in Barcelona.
