Modernist bird-shaped brooch-pendant by J.ROCA

Catalan Art Nouveau pendant brooch, made of platinum. Signed by the jeweler J. Roca, active in Barcelona in the early twentieth century. It depicts a naturalistic scene, with a delicately modeled bird, perched on a set of curly ribbons, feeding on small fruits. The body of the bird is finely decorated with brilliant-cut diamonds, color G-H, purity VS1-VS2, weighing ca. 3.00 ct. set to highlight and add brilliance to the plumage. Also the fruits and curly scallops, characteristic of the Art Nouveau movement.
