BID HISTORY

DESCRIPTION

Retro brooch in yellow gold with amethyst and sapphires. Spain, ca. 40's.
Retro design brooch made in yellow gold, with a dynamic and volumetric composition, characteristic of the jewelry of the 1940s, centered by a rectangular step-cut amethyst, of attractive violet tone, weighing ca. 20.00 ct, which acts as the visual axis of the piece. The design is completed with a line of cabochon cut sapphires, arranged in a curved and rhythmic way, providing chromatic contrast and reinforcing the sculptural character of the whole. The mount, with generous volumes and shiny surfaces, responds to the robust and expressive language of the period, with an elaborate work of gold sheets and folds that give movement and presence to the piece.
Weight: 29 gr.
Measurements: 7.7 x 5.5 cm.
