The cover of this book presents a reproduction of an engraving with the legend Ars cum Natura ad Salutem conspirans, and in the lower area Medicine reveals Nature before the Art of Pharmacy. It is an engraving by Blas Ametller. The Royal Spanish Pharmacopoeia is "the code that establishes the quality that the active ingredients and excipients that enter into the composition of medicines for human and veterinary use must comply with. The basis of the first Spanish Pharmacopoeia was in 1511.
