The Spanish Academy is the equivalent of the Royal Spanish Academy (RAE), an official royal institution of Spain whose mission is to ensure the stability of the Spanish language. The RAE is dedicated to linguistic planning through the application of linguistic prescriptions aimed at promoting linguistic unity within and between territories to ensure a common standard. The proposed linguistic guidelines are set out in various works such as this one.
