"De mulieribus claris or De claris mulieribus" ("About illustrious women") is a collection of biographies of historical and mythical women written by the Florentine author Giovanni Boccaccio; it was completed between 1361 and 1362. It is notable for being the first book in Western literature devoted exclusively to biographies of women.
