La realidad de las Capitulaciones de Santa Fe y el carácter que tuvo la expedición colombina is an edition published in 1992 by Testimonio Compañía Editorial, within a careful documentary collection that gathers key texts related to the beginning of the voyages of Christopher Columbus and the agreements established with the Catholic Monarchs. This work, annotated by historian Demetrio Ramos, offers a rigorous study of the true legal, political and symbolic scope of the Capitulaciones de Santa Fe, the foundational document that laid the legal foundations for the first Columbus voyage.

The edition includes a selection of original documents from the end of the 15th century from important historical archives, such as the Archivo de la Corona de Aragón (Barcelona), the Archivo General de Simancas and the Archivo General de Indias (Seville). Among them are capitulations, deeds, letters of appointment and accreditation, memorials and other writings that contextualize the agreement between the Crown and Columbus, and allow a better understanding of the institutional character of the expedition.

This edition is presented as part of a limited collection of 980 numbered copies, which gives it bibliographic and collector's value. It is an essential work for historians, researchers and readers interested in the documentary origins of the discovery of America and the legal and political framework in which Columbus' enterprise took place.
