"Acerca de la materia medicinal y los venenos mortíferos" is the title of a classic work by Andrés Laguna, a translation and commentary of the treatise "De Materia Medica" by Dioscorides. This book, published in 1555, was very important for the development of pharmacology and medicine in Spain, as it introduced the study of medicinal plants and poisons in a systematic way. Andrés Laguna not only translated the text, but also made extensive annotations and corrections, which made his work more extensive and made it a fundamental reference for the following centuries.
