Llibre del Repartiment de València.
Facsimile edition.
València, Artes Gráficas Vicent, 1978. Complete work in 4 volumes.
Measurements: 22,5 × 31,5 cm (approx. each one).
Facsimile edition of the Llibre del Repartiment de València, one of the most relevant documentary sources for the study of the medieval history of the Kingdom of Valencia. The Llibre del Repartiment systematically compiles the donations and adjudications of lands, houses and properties that King James I of Aragon made after the conquest of the city of Valencia in 1238, as part of the process of Christian repopulation of the territory.
This edition, published in four volumes by Artes Gráficas Vicent in 1978, faithfully reproduces the original documents and presents different formats and sizes depending on the volume, respecting the typology of the manuscripts and their diplomatic character. The set is an indispensable tool for historians, genealogists, researchers of foral law and scholars of the Kingdom of Valencia.
Each volume is carefully bound and faithfully reproduces both the original handwriting and the structure of the documents, providing an exceptional testimony on the territorial and social reorganization carried out by the Aragonese monarchy during the medieval expansion. The work is part of the collection dedicated to the history of Valencia and represents one of the most complete and rigorous editions of the documentary corpus of the repartiment.
