"Jules or the paternal ceiling" is the title of a novel in four volumes written by François-Guillaume Ducray-Duminil, whose first volume was published in 1806. It is a work of French literature.
François Guillaume Ducray-Duminil was a French novelist, poet and composer.
From 1790, he held the position of literary editor at Les Petites Affiches, where he was noted for the indulgence of his criticism. A member of several literary societies, including the Société du Caveau, he cultivated both poetry and song, and wrote some plays that were never performed.
He is recognized mainly for his production aimed at children and young people, a genre in which he enjoyed great popularity. Concerned about the moral content of his works, he ensured that virtue and innocence triumphed at the end of narratives built on ingenious plot twists.
