BID HISTORY

DESCRIPTION

New and rare observations. Volume I. 18th century.
In period flexible parchment, with handwritten lettering on the spine.
Volume I of the work.
Measurements: 20 x 15 x 3 cm.

Interesting work titled Nuevas y raras observaciones, corresponding to Volume I, printed in the XVIII century, destined to the compilation and exposition of singular observations of scientific, medical or natural character, according to a usual typology in the illustrated literature of the time. This type of publication brought together studies, cases or phenomena considered uncommon, with a descriptive and empirical approach.

The volume opens with a sober typographic title page, presided over by an engraved heraldic coat of arms, which reinforces the institutional or academic character of the work. The indication "Volume I" confirms that this is a publication conceived as a serial or multi-volume work, a common feature of scientific treatises and scholarly compilations of the period.

The copy preserves its original period binding in flexible parchment, with visible signs of use and aging. The spine has old handwritten labeling identifying the contents. Interior in reasonable condition, with good quality laid paper, wide margins and clear typography. There are slight stains, darkening and small marginal defects consistent with its age and use.

A work of historical and bibliographical interest, representative of the scientific and observational literature of the eighteenth century, and attractive to collectors of antiquarian books, history of science and original editions in period binding, especially as it is the first volume of the series.
