Illuminated parchment.
Preserves original case in good condition.
Measurements: 31 x 21 x 3 cm.
Executoria of great artistic quality, fruit of the work of Pascual Antonio Ruiz de Naveda, who served as chronicler and king of arms in the service of King Charles IV. These royal officials had the important function of certifying genealogies, titles of nobility and coats of arms, which turned their works into documents of great social and legal relevance.
The "ejecutoria de hidalguía" is the judicial document that contains the information about the lawsuit and the sentence by virtue of which a person is recognized as a nobleman. To be hidalgo means to be recognized as noble and to be part of the non-titled nobility. In addition to social prestige, the recognition of hidalguía brought fiscal advantages and economic benefits.
