DESCRIPTION

RAFAEL ALBERTI (El Puerto de Santa María, 1902- 1999).
"Retornos de lo vivido", 1st edition, 1952.

Presents drawing on the cover of Alberti "Puerta del vino".
Measurements: 21 x 15 x 1 cm.
Retornos de lo vivido, published in 1952 by Losada publishing house in Buenos Aires, belongs to Rafael Alberti's exile period and is part of a poetry marked by memory, nostalgia and the revision of life experience. In this collection, the poet turns his gaze towards his personal and historical past, reconstructing episodes, places and affections from the distance of exile.
The work is characterized by an introspective tone in which evocation becomes the structural axis of the poetic discourse. Alberti articulates a constant dialogue between present and past, where memory is not only recollection, but also emotional reconstruction and identity in transit. This exercise of literary return becomes, at the same time, a form of resistance to the loss of the original vital space.
From the stylistic point of view, Retornos de lo vivido combines a restrained expression with the author's own lyrical intensity, integrating images of great symbolic charge and a musicality that reinforces the meditative character of the whole. The experience of exile seeps into each poem, endowing the work with a universal dimension of uprootedness and the search for meaning.
In this context, the 1952 edition in Buenos Aires represents not only a testimony of Alberti's literary production in exile, but also a stage of poetic maturity in which memory becomes a fundamental creative material and an instrument of identity reconstruction.
