The title page features a chalcographic engraving depicting a wild boar within an ornamental cartouche.
It contains stamps and handwritten annotations from an earlier owner.
Parchment covers with a handwritten title on the spine.
It shows stains, scuffing, and small tears in the parchment, as well as slight stains and signs of wear on the pages, consistent with its age.
Measurements: 20.5 x 15 x 4 cm.

Luis Muñoz was a 17th-century Spanish writer and biographer who died in 1646; he was also associated with the Royal Council of Finance. He specialized in biographical and religious literature and wrote biographies of prominent figures in Spanish spirituality. His *Life and Virtues of the Venerable Father Juan de Ávila* was published in Madrid in 1635 and is one of the first major biographies dedicated to Juan de Ávila, a priest, preacher, and later saint and Doctor of the Church. The work also includes information about some of his principal disciples and was prepared in the context of the cause for beatification initiated in the 17th century. The printing privilege is dated 1634, and the errata list is dated February 1635.

The parchment has stains, scuffs, and small imperfections, as well as slight stains and signs of wear on the pages, consistent with its age.
