DESCRIPTION
Northern Italian or French nailed safe or safe deposit box, ca. 1800.
Steel.
Working lock. Two keys.
Weight: 150 kg.
Measurements: 118 x 87 x 56 cm.
Safe dated around 1800 with a solid structure. Although this type of boxes were mainly functional objects, in the case of this example the decorative aspect has also been taken care of. Thus, the nailing of the steel bars has been used to develop rhythmic geometries in relief. Their function was to deposit the values and riches of an owner in defense against the greed of his fellow men.
