Table lamp, clearly inspired by the refined Louis XVI style, stands as a testimony to the sophistication and good taste of the time. Its base, triform and slightly concave, is made of gilded bronze.
On this base stand three finely crafted gilded legs, each culminating in feet as a scroll, a detail that brings an air of nobility and strength. These feet are not only functional, but also decorative, a hallmark of the Louis XVI style, which favored ornamental pieces, but without excess. From the legs emerge three winged griffins, also in brass, sculpted with precision. These mythological figures, more stylized than in previous styles, reflect the classical influence that predominated in the furniture of the period.
The central bowl, made of brass, is delicately decorated with vegetal motifs, including stylized palm leaves. This type of decoration, although discreet, evokes the love of nature that marked the design in the time of Louis XVI. Finishing off the composition, a small golden artichoke rises at the top, adding a final touch of sophistication.
Each element of this lamp seems to tell a story: that of the perfect balance between ornamentation and functionality, luxury and restraint. It is, without a doubt, a piece that reflects the spirit of an era in which art and design sought to exalt beauty without falling into excessive opulence.
