Exhibits wear consistent with age and use.
This type of desk has its origin in the one designed in the 18th century for the Prince of Wales (who later became George IV) by George Hepplewhite. It is named after Carlton House, which at the time was the Prince's London residence, and is sometimes also known as the Carlton House desk.
