This is a piece fully inserted in the lucid spirit of the rococo period, and at the same time it is a rare and special work, unique and completely handmade. It is an eighteenth-century writing desk with secretaire and cupboard with two eighteenth-century shelves, in hand-painted wood with floral motifs and borders on each of its parts, and whose hinged lid provides evidence that it is a wedding gift: two heart-shaped vases, with the names of the newlyweds and the date (May 17, 1783). The piece of furniture is raised on square section feet and boasts a trimmed skirt, whose sinuous profile dialogues with the curves of borders and scrolls. The interior drawers are organized in two registers of four drawers on each side of a shelf, with colored ball handles. Different office motifs are painted on the wood: a pair of scissors, a pen, an inkwell, a white paper.... There are even nods to trompe l'oeil with the small elements that seem to peek out of the drawers: a little chain, a red ribbon... All this contributes to the originality of the piece of furniture.
