Pair of electrified sconces with green metal base and mottled glass shades. The pieces have the same Art Deco aesthetic design. The aesthetics of both, part of the collaboration of Max Le Verrier in the case of metal and Daum Nancy in charge of the screens.
Max le Verrier was born in Neuilly-sur-Seine, near Paris. He studied at the School of Fine Arts in Genoa. He then returned to Paris, where he opened his workshop. His first successful sculpture was Pelican. He received a gold medal at the Exposition des Arts Décoratifs et Industriels of 1925, which marked the height of Art Deco. He opened his foundry, where he worked with sculptors such as Pierre Le Faguays, Marcel Bouraine.... He gained a reputation for the quality of his metal works, then began to make more personal creations, flexible and athletic female figures. He received a medal of honor at the International of Paris 1937.
The Daum manufacture was founded in the late nineteenth century by Augustin Daum (1853-1909), from a small family glassworks in Nancy.
