BID HISTORY
DESCRIPTION
Art Deco chaise longue, 1920-1930.
Macassar ebony wood.
Upholstered with capitonné.
In need of restoration.
Measurements: 85 x 170 x 66 cm.
Elegant Art Deco style and period chaise longue, made in Macassar ebony, an exotic wood appreciated for its dark grain and great resistance. The piece has a sinuous base, with a certain classical inspiration, combining architectural sobriety with mythological sculptural details. The back legs are carved in the form of carefully carved scaled dolphins, with raised tails that support the seat, giving visual lightness to the structure. The front part rests on the continuous wooden base, giving stability to the whole. The capitoné upholstery combines with the elegance of the design.
