Exceptional pair of Dutch veneered wood chest of drawers, dating from the second half of the 19th century, circa 1860. The two chest of drawers we present open with two drawers at the front. They have an elegant curve on three sides and are inlaid on all sides, as well as on the top, with flowers, including the tulip, the flower par excellence of Holland. The woods used are
These are Louis XV style tables. They are characterized by their curved design, often called "Rococo", and by the floral marquetry that adorns their surface. The Louis XV style was popularized in 18th century France and is known for its superior craftsmanship in cabinetmaking. The legs have a curved "S" shape and the drawer pulls are ornate bronze.
