Solid wood chest, neo-Renaissance style. It is covered with iron sheet embossed with floral motifs that give it a leather-like finish. The metal sheets alternate with wooden bands that mold the sides and the domed lid. The hardware has a dual function: functional and decorative. The interior is lined with damask fabric.
These trunks were historically used to store clothing and other belongings during long voyages, hence their sturdy construction.
