DESCRIPTION
Spanish door; XVII century.
Carved wood.
It presents damages caused by xylophagous.
Measurements: 173 x 92.5 cm; 167 x 81 x 47 cm.
Seventeenth century Spanish door, made of carved wood and organized in multiple rectangular panels arranged in horizontal series. Each panel has recessed moldings with straight profiles, typical of the sober and geometric language characteristic of early Castilian Baroque woodwork. The solid structure and the rhythmic repetition of the panels give the whole a marked sense of order and stability. Despite surface wear and minor traces of use, the piece retains the integrity of its original design, showing the technical expertise of the workshops of the time.
