BID HISTORY

DESCRIPTION

Renaissance door of book type; Charles V period, XVI century.
Carved wood.
Measurements: 185 x 81 cm; 192 x 95 x 7 cm (frame).
Renaissance door of book type, corresponding to the time of Charles V. Executed entirely in carved wood, it presents a structure of deeply molded panels decorated with geometric reliefs and stylized plant motifs, characteristic of the Renaissance ornamental repertoire. The symmetrical composition, the use of staggered frames and the formal sobriety reveal a careful manufacture in accordance with the architectural canons of the 16th century. The natural wear of the surface is evidence of its age and historical use, preserving, however, the integrity of its decorative and constructive elements.
