Elegant arm chair in dark wood profusely carved, representative of the Anglo-Indian production of the nineteenth century. It stands out for its crested back, as well as for the gallery of turned balusters. The front legs have a characteristic helical carving.

This type of furniture was produced in India during the British colonial period to satisfy both European clientele and local elites, combining indigenous craft techniques with Western forms.

The quality of the carving and the decorative density reflect the high standard of Indo-colonial workshops, where the wood - often of hard tropical species such as teak - allowed for precise and durable execution.
