Box. Italy, mid-nineteenth century.
Ebony structure with inlaid wood, mother-of-pearl, bone, metal and gilt bronze applications.
It has secrets.

Box of quadrangular structure made of ebony wood. The wood presents a sober decoration based on geometric compartments that center gilded bronze rosettes alternating with vegetable motifs in mother-of-pearl marquetry. The hinged lid continues the same design. The entire box is elevated by gilded bronze openwork mounts embellished with claw feet, scallops and scrolls. The interior of the box is lined with green fabric.
