Carved stone.
Measurements: 16 x 22 cm.
Mortar carved from complete blocks of stone, it has four ribs that facilitate the grip. The antiquity of mortars is very well documented in some works of ancient literature, such as the Egyptian Ebers Papyrus, which dates from 1550 BC and is considered one of the oldest documents of medicine in ancient Egypt. It is also mentioned in the Old Testament, and the Roman poet Juvenal mentions it in articles about drug preparation.
