Pair of Louis XVI style candlesticks, made in gilded bronze, represents two child figures standing on cylindrical pedestals ornamented with floral garlands. Each child holds a bouquet of sinuous and richly decorated arms that culminate in candleholders, whose cups have finely chiseled vegetal reliefs. The composition combines grace and balance, reflecting the neoclassical elegance of late 18th century French taste, where formal purity, symmetry and inspiration from classical antiquity blend with a refined ornamental sense.
