DESCRIPTION
Pair of three-light candlesticks. France, XIX century
Gilded bronze and fluorite
Measurements: 38 x 40 x 20 cm
Elegant pair of 19th century French candelabra, executed in gilded bronze and mounted on carved fluorite bodies, a combination of materials characteristic of the 19th century ornamental taste for hard and semiprecious stones.
Each piece is articulated around a central body with a bulbous profile and stylized neck in veined fluorite, whose greenish, ochre and grayish tones generate an attractive natural chromatic effect. The stone is harmoniously integrated with finely chiseled gilded bronze mounts and applications, creating a balanced and refined silhouette.
The elegantly curved side arms support three floral tulip-shaped lights, delicately modeled with leaves and plant motifs that reinforce the naturalistic character of the ensemble. The openwork bases, with their dynamic design and stylized scrolls, add visual lightness and structural stability.
This type of production responds to the 19th century French taste for the reinterpretation of rococo and neoclassical models, combined with the material richness and technical virtuosity of the Parisian workshops. The quality of the gilding and the chromatic vividness of the fluorite give the pair a remarkable decorative presence, suitable for both classical and eclectic interiors.
Pieces of great ornamental appeal, representative of the technical and aesthetic refinement of 19th century French bronzework.
