Rosa Serra belongs to the generation that imposed a rupture within the sculpture olotina. Her discovery of the three-dimensional figure led her to approach the work of Lluís Curós, her first master. She moved to Olot in 1952, where she currently lives and works. In 1970 she entered the Lluís Carbonell Academy, where she studied drawing and painting, and two years later she entered the Olot School of Fine Arts, where for three years she studied drawing, ceramics and engraving. He held his first individual exhibition in 1972, in Barcelona, and from 1973 he dedicated himself to sculpture. Shortly after, in 1976, he received the sculpture prize at the III Biennial of Bilbao. In the following decade, specifically in 1985, the International Olympic Committee commissioned him to create a series of sculptures for the 1988 Olympic Games in Seoul. Later, she also created sculptures with a sports theme for the 1992 Barcelona Olympics, and in 2000 the Nike company commissioned her to create a statue of Tiger Woods for the city of Oregon. She is also the author of the "Suite Olympique", located at the IOC headquarters in Lausanne, and of several pieces of the same theme located in the Olympic Park in Seoul and in the Olympic Committee of Asia, in Kuwait. In 2008 he received the Sant Jordi Cross. Of great personality and style, Rosa Serra's sculptures are tremendously influenced by those of the master Henry Moore. Risky curves, roundness and harmony merge in dynamic and moving works, of tremendous plastic expressiveness, which define the characteristic identity of her production.
