Trained in art and graphic design at Walsall and Wolverhampton schools, Bird left England in 1956 and settled in Mallorca. He has exhibited his work all over the world, and is currently represented in the Porreres Museum in Mallorca, the Vilafamés Museum in Castellón, the Elvehjem Museum in Madison (USA), the Yorkshire Collection in England, the Time-Life Collection in Japan, the Banco Argentaria in New York and the Redfern Gallery in London, among other collections.
