Painter and engraver, Irene Iribarren is mainly known for her facet as a portraitist, and in fact she has portrayed important figures such as Their Majesties the King and Queen of Spain, H.R.H. Prince Felipe, U.S. President George Bush, several ambassadors and ministers, etc. Iribarren studied at the Faculty of Fine Arts in Barcelona, graduating in 1967, and since his debut in 1969 he has held about forty solo exhibitions, in addition to participating in more than a hundred group exhibitions. She has received important distinctions, such as the prize she was awarded at the National Exhibition of Fine Arts in Madrid in 1968, the engraving prize at the International Salon of Paris in 1971 or the First Prize of the Rodriguez Acosta Foundation. She was also awarded a scholarship by the French Government and the Juan March Foundation. She is currently represented in more than twenty museums and collections both in Spain and abroad.
