Francisco Espinoza was formed in the School of Fine Arts of Lima, where he graduated with honors. Later he extended his studies in Spain and France, thanks to scholarships granted by the governments of these countries. Between 1965 and 1968 he lived in Cuba, where he began to work as a teacher. He then returned to Spain and settled in Burgos, where he combined his artistic activity with teaching and, years later, founded the Espinoza House-Museum. Throughout his time in Burgos, he also developed an intense muralist activity, which he had previously begun in Cuba. In 1983 the painter visited Lima again, where he painted several murals. Between 1984 and 1989 he shares his time between Spain and the United States, creating in the latter country the project "Atlantic Mosaic", in commemoration of the V Centenary of the Discovery of America. In 1989 he settled in the Sevillian town of Constantina, where he moved his House-Museum and where he still lives today, linked to the Contemporary Art Center of the Cartuja de Cazalla (Seville), where part of his work is exhibited. His paintings, engravings and sculptures have won numerous awards, and are in various American and European museums.
