DESCRIPTION
ALEXANDER CALDER (United States, 1898 - 1976).
"Mobile Draeger."
Silkscreen.
Signed.
Certificate and original box enclosed.
Measurements: 13 x15 x 19 cm.
Three-dimensional graphic work conceived by Alexander Calder, in which he transfers to the multiple format the essential principles of his famous sculptural production. The mobile, articulated by means of suspended and balanced abstract forms, activates the space through real movement, turning the work into a changing and dynamic composition.
The "Mobile Draeger" project reflects Calder's interest in integrating art, publishing and formal experimentation, blurring the boundaries between graphic work and sculpture. The use of color, the lightness of the materials and the precise balance of the elements fully respond to his mature language, in which movement becomes an essential component of the aesthetic experience.
The preservation of the original box and the certificate significantly reinforces the collector's interest in the work, providing a guarantee of authenticity and completeness.
Alexander Calder was one of the most influential sculptors of modern art and the creator of the concept of the mobile as an autonomous art form. His work is represented in the collections of the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) and the Whitney Museum of American Art in New York, as well as the Guggenheim Museum, the Centre Pompidou in Paris and the Tate in London. His decisive contribution to the development of kinetic sculpture places him as a fundamental figure of 20th century art.
