DESCRIPTION
SALVADOR DALÍ I DOMÈNECH (Figueras, 1904 - 1989).
"Tauromachie, The Bull".
Silkscreen
Hand signed.
In good condition.
Measurements: 75 x 55 cm.
Composition of marked symbolic intensity in which Salvador Dalí approaches the universe of bullfighting as a territory of mythical and psychological resonances. The figure of the bull, the central axis of the work, is constructed by means of a gestural and dynamic stroke, wrapped in a vibrant chromatic atmosphere dominated by ochers, reds and blacks, which evoke both the ritual violence and the dreamlike dimension characteristic of Dalí's language.
This work is part of Dalí's mature graphic production, in which the artist reinterprets themes from the Spanish tradition from a surrealist perspective, combining eroticism, violence and myth. The autograph signature adds a testimonial and direct value, linking the piece unequivocally to the artist's hand.
Salvador Dalí is one of the fundamental figures of 20th century art and one of the greatest representatives of international surrealism. His work can be found in the collections of institutions such as the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía (Madrid), the Museum of Modern Art (New York), the Tate Modern (London) and the Centre Pompidou (Paris), among many others. His production, which includes painting, graphic work, sculpture and film, is characterized by an unmistakable personal iconography and a permanent exploration of the subconscious, desire and cultural identity.
