"Olympic centenial" 1992.
Lithograph, copy 66/250.

Measurements: 63 x 90 cm.
Lithograph made in 1992 by Antoni Tàpies, within his most characteristic material and gestural language. The composition combines sign, writing and abstraction, evoking the symbolic force of the trace. Created within the framework of the Barcelona 92 Olympic Games, the work is inscribed in the spirit of that event, transforming the artistic gesture into an emblem of energy and cultural renovation.
Co-founder of the Dau al Set group in 1948, Antoni Tàpies began his public projection at the end of the 1940s, exhibiting in Barcelona and Madrid. After a stay in Paris in 1950, his career quickly took on an international dimension, with exhibitions in New York since 1953 and a continued presence in the main artistic centers of Europe, America and Asia. His work has been the subject of major international retrospectives and has received numerous prestigious awards. He is represented in the world's major museums and his legacy has a fundamental axis in the Fundació Antoni Tàpies in Barcelona.
