The composition reflects the pioneering spirit of lyrical abstraction, where color and rhythm become autonomous expressive elements. The work evokes Kandinsky's search for a "visual music", with intense chromatic hallmarks and a balance between structure and spontaneity.
A great precursor of abstraction, Kandinsky is represented in the most important modern art collections around the world, including the MoMa and the Guggenheim in New York, the Peggy Guggenheim Collection in Venice, the Centre Pompidou in Paris and the MUMOK in Vienna.
