Painter, engraver, sculptor and "light artist", he began his career within a minimalist and conceptual current and, after a brief figurative period, he evolved towards abstraction, developing a language of simple geometric forms: lines, squares and triangles gathered in two-dimensional compositions. Morellet is represented at the Tate Gallery in London, the Daimler Chrysler Collection in Berlin, the Calderara Foundation in Milan, the Albright-Knox Gallery in Buffalo, the Brooklyn Museum in New York and the Lorraine Museum (France), among others.
