"Plensa / Estellés. L'hotel París" is a limited edition collector's edition in which Jaume Plensa turns language into sculptural matter. The outer case, made of copper and laser-cut following an original design by the artist, is composed of verses by Estellés intertwined in an openwork structure that transforms the text into architecture.

The inside contains the poems printed on handmade paper made from cotton and eucalyptus fibers, along with a signed and numbered intaglio engraving.

The piece is situated in Plensa's constant line of research into the alphabet as body and space: the word ceases to be only a support for meaning to become volume, light and shadow, configuring a work that oscillates between artist's book, sculpture and poetic object.

Jaume Plensa has had an extensive international career, with outstanding exhibitions such as the retrospective held at the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía in 2000.

He has received important awards, including the National Plastic Arts Award from the Generalitat de Catalunya and the Medal of Chevalier des Arts et des Lettres from the French Ministry of Culture. His work is part of important international collections and museums such as the MoMA in New York, the Reina Sofia Museum in Madrid and the MACBA in Barcelona.
