This work, whose structure is based on rhythmic repetition and gestural organicity, synthesizes Gordillo's fundamental interests.
Luis Gordillo is one of the most influential figures in Spanish contemporary art. Initiated in abstraction in the fifties, his work integrates perceptual research on the psychology of the image.
Of great international prestige, he has been awarded the National Prize of Plastic Arts (1981), the Gold Medal of Merit in Fine Arts (1996), the Gold Medal of the Circle of Fine Arts of Madrid (2004) and the Velázquez Prize of Plastic Arts (2007).
He is represented in the Reina Sofía Museum in Madrid, MACBA in Barcelona, the Juan March Foundation, the ARTIUM in Vitoria, the Patio Herreriano Museum in Valladolid, the Gulbenkian Foundation in Lisbon, the Folkwag Museum in Germany, among others.
