In this engraving, Tàpies evokes the figure of the dragon together with the cross - essential motifs of his imaginary - by means of a gestural and material language of intense symbolic and archaic charge.
A leading figure in European art in the second half of the 20th century and the leading exponent of Informalism in Spain, Tàpies developed his own language based on material-gestural experimentation. His work, present in institutions such as the Reina Sofia Museum, the MACBA or the Fondation Maeght, has been widely recognized internationally, with his graphic production also standing out for its relevance and market demand.
