Julio Vaquero

In this work, Julio Vaquero places the scene in an exhibition space, where frames and objects dialogue with the "small sculpture" and a figure projected as a shadow. The composition, in shades of blue and gray, is constructed through transparencies that dilute the limits between figure and background. The shadow acts as a trace rather than a presence. The set proposes a reflection on perception and the relationship between work and spectator.

Born in Barcelona, Julio Vaquero studied at the Faculty of Fine Arts of Sant Jordi, where he was awarded the Joan Güell prize for painting. His work, located in the field of contemporary figuration, starts from the observation of reality to derive towards compositions with a strong symbolic and experimental charge.

He has exhibited in galleries and institutions in Spain, Europe and the United States, and his work is part of collections such as the Vila Casas Foundation and the Ostend Museum of Modern Art. He is currently represented by Pigment Gallery, which has promoted his recent international projection.
