"After the Party" (1979) is a highly representative work of Andy Warhol's last period, in which the artist delves into the New York social culture of the late 1970s, closely linked to the environment of Studio 54. Far from representing the protagonists of that nightlife, Warhol focuses his attention on their traces: empty glasses, bottles and the remains of a celebration, constructing a contemporary still life that transforms excess into an iconic image.

Published on the occasion of his exhibition at the Whitney Museum in 1979, the work is notable for its sophisticated use of silkscreen on a high-contrast photographic base. On this, Warhol superimposes lines of vibrant color -pinks, yellows, greens and blues- that do not coincide exactly with the contours, generating a sensation of vibration and visual displacement. This resource introduces a dynamic and almost psychedelic dimension, evoking the residual energy of the party and reinforcing its sensorial character.

A signed and numbered copy of a limited edition, "After the Party" synthesizes some of the key themes in Warhol's production: repetition, consumption and the aestheticization of the everyday. His work, present in institutions such as the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York, remains a fundamental reference of 20th century art and the contemporary market.
