Antonio Suárez exhibited with the School of Madrid in the Buchholz gallery in 1949, and that same year he settled in Paris, where he remained until 1953. On his return to Spain he began to relate to avant-garde groups, and in 1957 he took part in the founding of the group "El Paso". After the dissolution of the group he was invited to the biennials of Alexandria, Venice and Sao Paulo, participated in the Salon des Indépendants in Paris, and since the late fifties his work will be present in the most important exhibitions of Spanish painting held around the world: Museum of Decorative Arts in Paris, Museum of Modern Art in New York, National Art in Tokyo, Tate Gallery in London and others. He is currently represented in the M.N.C.A. Reina Sofía, the British Museum in London, the Museum of Spanish Abstract Art in Cuenca, the Modern Art Museums in Bilbao, San Francisco and Espiritu Santo (Brazil), the Brooklyn Museum in New York and the Stadische Museum in Leverkusen, among others.
