Created in 2008, these engravings showcase Marina Anaya’s characteristic figurative style, based on a highly personal line drawing, stylized figures, and a selective use of intense colors. The graphic treatment combines precision of line with textured surfaces, while the embrace and the kiss place the relationship between the figures at the center of both compositions. Printmaking, along with painting and sculpture, is one of the artist’s main areas of exploration; she regularly works with traditional intaglio techniques.

With a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Castilla-La Mancha, Anaya furthered her training in Brazil and Havana. In 2008, when these works were created, she participated in ESTAMPA and was selected for the Gran Canaria Print Series Award and the 20th Máximo Ramos Print Award in Ferrol. In 2004, the National Library of Spain acquired one of her works.
